all signed up

It's official!
I've signed up for the NOFA-NY Winter Conference in Saratoga.

I took one class last year {cheese making} but this year I have Friday afternoon and all day Saturday classes.

Friday I am taking:
ABCs of Preserving at Home: A Hands-On Look at Freezing, Drying, Canning, and Fermentation

Hands-on experience surrounded by the knowledge and comraderie of veteran preservers, peppered with powerpoint and hand-outs. Sharon Nagle and Petra Page-Mann, Firefly Farm, will lead an informative, fun and inspiring workshop on various methods of preservation. Freezing, drying, canning and fermentation will be extensively discussed, from nutrient and energy efficiency to tools and techniques. Don’t miss this delicious (and nutritious) hands-on training!

Super excited to learn some new preserving techniques!

And my plans for Saturday include:
  • Building Community around Food
  • Marketing to Restaurants or The Farmer's Calendar
  • Vegetable planning
  • No till vegetables
I am also taking another cheese making class {I don't feel confident enough to give it a try by myself yet but hoping this class will be the one}

Homestead Cheese Workshop

Hoping to have enough cheeses to use for the dark days challenge!
