Making stuff {mostly from Pinterest}

It was a very crafty week for my 3 day week-end {I am just now getting around to sharing}.  I kind of started a facebook contest when I posted to Kristen that I was scrapbooking.

She didn’t take it lightly and decided she too needed to scrapbook last week-end.  But I didn’t stop there!  I worked on my altered book and started making things I had saved on my pinterest board.  So what did I make?

First I made a new body scrub with salt and sugar. I started with sea salt and organic sugar, then ended up melting some coconut oil and used safflower oil too since I’ve had it for awhile and thought it would smell nice.  I used Jasmine fragrance but it definitely could have been stronger.  One word of warning: this homemade scrub leaves a super slippery surface on the bottom of the tub.  I will keep trying recipes as my hands are always dry and raw from working in the greenhouse.

We got a dvd player and screen set for our car {well, the kids did} for Christmas.  I needed to find a case for it {& quick since it was still sitting in my living room}.  I saw this cute bag on pinterest.  Directions are here

but I was unsure of the finished size.  So I made some with my new fabric and used fleece as lining.  It ended up being perfect to fit both the screens and all the wires.  I think I’ll make another for my laptop and make a smaller one for Scarlet’s tablet.

And finally- I added to my letter “J” collection.  I found a foam “J” in the clearance section of the craft store.

I had to get it but wasn’t too sure of what I would end up doing with it until I saw a pic on pinterest  {sorry I didn’t pin it right away since I can’t find it now!}.  I had a few supplies left over from my floral design class and voila!  I am loving how it looks.

Hoping to get my craft on this week-end too, along with a plan to make my own pasta this week with some friends!
